I am committed to strengthening families whether it is through the couple entering into marriage, the child in individual play therapy, the parents in individual counseling and/or the entire family in family counseling.
My approach is client-centered. I believe that people move towards growth and healing and have the capacity to discover their own answers. I will seek to provide an accepting and understanding climate for each of my clients. My approach to play therapy is child-centered. I studied with a master in the field, Dr. Garry Landreth in Denton, TX.
I received my Bachelor's degree in social work in 1988 and my Master's degree in Counseling in 1999.
My experience with children includes work with children living in violent homes (Domestic Violence Program), children who have experienced abuse from neglect, physical, and sexual abuse (Children Protective Services), and children who have been separated from their parents and in the process of reuniting with them (Family Reunification Program).
My experience with adults encompasses individual counseling, grief counseling, married couple retreats, mom retreats, parenting groups, mothers support groups, Child Parent Relationship Training, and Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study (FOCCUS).
